Eligibility criteria for the scheme are as follows:
- As per the sources, only the residents of Punjab state are eligible to register under this scheme. The candidate must be a citizen of the state by birth.
- At the time of registration in the scheme, the age of the beneficiary should be 58 years or age (female) and 65 years (male).
- Beneficiary should not be employed in any private sector at the time of registration. This system is only for unemployed citizens.
- The scheme is not valid for any beneficiary who is self-employed or has any other source of fixed income of more than Rs.60,000 per annum.
- Any beneficiary having any commercial property in his name will also not be eligible under the scheme.
- If the beneficiary has a residential property, then they should not have a residential property of more than 200 square yards in any urban area to be registered under the scheme.
