Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala has taken a significant step towards empowering women by launching the ‘Fair Price Shop’ portal on July 29, 2023. Through this portal, the Haryana government has invited online applications for 3224 new ration depots across the state. What makes this initiative noteworthy is the government’s decision to provide 33 percent reservation to women, granting them licenses for a total of 2382 ration depots.
This move marks a positive change as the government encourages the active participation of women in the distribution of essential commodities. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online for the ration depot licenses until August 7, 2023. The launch of this portal comes after a long time, making it a great opportunity for individuals to contribute to the welfare of their communities and support the state’s efforts in providing access to affordable food supplies.
By giving women a significant share in the ration depot licenses, the Haryana government is promoting gender equality and recognizing the crucial role played by women in society. Through this initiative, the government aims to empower women entrepreneurs and create more opportunities for them in the state’s distribution network.
