Telangana Nethanna Bima Scheme 2024
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Sunday launched the Nethanna Bima Scheme 2024. Along with this, he also congratulated the weaving society of the state on National Handloom Day. He said that the Telangana government is continuously working for the welfare of the weavers’ society. He is also working on many new schemes for them.
Talking about Nethanna Bima Yojana Scheme 2024, he said that it is the first such scheme of its kind in the country. This will benefit 80 lakh weaving families. This scheme will provide insurance coverage to the families of weavers. This insurance scheme is being launched especially on Handloom Day. Telangana Handloom Minister KT Rama Rao, along with the announcement of this scheme, appealed to the central government to withdraw the GST on handlooms. He said that this adversely affects the weavers.
Under this scheme, the family of the weaver will get insurance of Rs. 5 lakh in case of any kind of accidental death or accident. Weaver families will get financial security from this scheme. Telangana government has partnered with Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) for this scheme. The government itself will pay the annual premium of this scheme.
